GREEN IS UNIVERSAL ECO FAIR



WHEN: November 10, 2007

TIME: 10am to 4pm for a free Eco-Fair (does not include park admission).

WHERE:The fair will be outside the park {Universal Studios} by the front gates & globe.

The Eco-Fair is suitable for the entire family and will be presented by a “Green Team” of experts from over 20 organizations and the Environmental Media Association.
Activities and displays—many of them with “hands-on” interactive features– will range from simulated tidepools to Segway Personal Transporters, solar-powered blenders and eco-friendly popcorn poppers [ Sports Utility Bikes, Sun Ovens, Bike Blender]. Participating organizations will include Heal the Bay, Southern California Edison, Hollywood Beautification Team, Arbonne International, Global Green USA, LADWP, Baldwin Hills Conservancy, Tree People, Window On Our Waters, Los Angeles Conservations Corps, Path to Freedom. The Metro will test guests’ Green knowledge in the “Go Green, Go Metro” trivia game awarding exciting prizes and persons arriving via Metro can exchange their ticket stub for a free recycled carry-all bag,


Join the homegrown revolutionary urban homesteaders of Path to Freedom at NBC's Eco Fair. We and few eco volunteers be tabling and bringing along some of our favorite sustainable goods here from the urban homestead like: Sun Ovens, Bike Blender, Xtracycle, Toilet Lid Sink, Urban Chickens and more.

GREENING THE EARTH DAY 2007

Greening the Earth Day


PTF is once again proud to be a part of Pasadena's 5th annual Greening the Earth Day

Pasadena's Fifth Annual Greening the Earth Day and Family Arts Festival will feature plenty of information related to "green" energy, transportation, buildings and more.

Environmental exhibits, entertainment, organic food, community gardens, art exhibits and workshops will be among the many activities during the free event.


WHEN: Saturday, April 21
TIME: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHER Memorial Park and at Armory Center for the Arts, 145 N. Raymond Ave.

A street festival will be on Raymond Avenue between Walnut and Holly streets. Learn about recycling, solar power, conservation and more! Our fleet of electric and hybrid vehicles, wrapped with conservation and green power messages, will be on display.

Path to Freedom will have a tabling booth complete with biodiesel vehicle, solar oven, ollas and more. PTF will also be contributing a five $10 Peddler's Wagon Gift Certificates for the Earth Day raffle.

STREET SIGNS AND SOLAR OVENS: Socialcraft in Los Angeles (Oct 22-Dec 30)

A revolutionary exhibition featuring artwork created with social activism as its inspiration. Dubbed “socialcraft”, the objects on display are examples of unique artworks utilized by communities and individuals in their quest for social change. Street Signs and Solar Ovens will feature protest art meant for public display such as hand-crafted demonstration signs, posters, t-shirts, as well as examples of instruments for socially-conscious living such as eco-friendly appliances.


Path to Freedom will be contributing some of their low tech, sustainable items from their urban homestead. This exhibition will run and be open to the public from October 22 - December 30, 2006

LATINO HISTORY CELEBRATION

Path to Freedom will be tabling at this upcoming community event, hope you'll join us.


The 8th Annual Latino History Parade in 2006

To honor our elders
to preserve our collective past
to help educate all involved in our projects
to provide positive educational outreach for all in our community.


The theme for our event this year is “Harvesting Our Roots/Cosechando nuestra raices.” This event will be a celebration, taking place on the streets of Los Robles and Washington and culminating in a community fair in Washington Park, which will include entertainment, food and exhibitors representing various types of organizations.

WHAT: Eighth Annual Latino History Parade in Pasadena

WHEN: Saturday, October 14, 2006 Jamaica (community fair) 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Parade 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

WHERE: Messiah Lutheran Church is located just down the road from Path to Freedom at 570 E. Orange Grove Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91104, on the southwest corner of Orange Grove Blvd and Madison Avenue.
DIRECTIONS: From the 210 freeway: Exit at the Lake Avenue exit. Head north (toward the mountains). Turn left / head west on Orange Grove Blvd. Turn left on Madison Ave after going through the light at El Molino.


Directions from PTF: Turn left/head east on Orange Grove Blvd. Turn right on Madison Avenue, two blocks after going through the light at Los Robles.


Parking:Park in the small lot next to the church off Madison Ave or along Madison Ave.


From Gold Line: Get off at Lake Ave. Go north on Lake Ave (toward the mountains) and make a left on Maple St heading west, a one-way street running parallel to and immediately to the north of the 210 freeway. Cross the intersection at El Molino and take the next right (north) on Madison Ave. Cross Villa St and continue north on Madison to the church just south of Orange Grove. The distance is less than 3/4 of a mile.


The film will be shown in the church hall located just to the west of the church building.
